Curious about gut health-improving diet

I’ve read that eating a big variety of food helps improve gut health, and that can, as I understand it, improve both physical and mental health.

I’ve never really eaten a varied diet, ever since I moved out from my parents at 20 years old. Sure I’ve eaten healthy in a way, lots of nutrients, but not a big spectrum of foods.

I have started eating more varied foods. For example I’ve started eating tacos, with lots of different vegetables.

It’s an experiment I’m doing. Maybe I can notice some mental health benefits if I eat more varied.

There’s also this diet The Microbiome Diet Review: Food Lists, Benefits, and Meal Plan

Research suggests there could be a link between gut health and mental health, including conditions like schizophrenia. The gut microbiome, the community of microorganisms living in our digestive system, plays a crucial role in various aspects of health, including immune function and neurotransmitter production.

Some studies have found differences in the gut microbiome of individuals with schizophrenia compared to those without the condition. While these findings are intriguing, it’s essential to approach them with caution. The relationship between gut health and mental health is complex and not fully understood.

Restoring the gut microbiome through interventions like probiotics, prebiotics, and dietary changes may have some potential benefits for mental health conditions, including schizophrenia. However, more research is needed to understand the specific mechanisms involved and the effectiveness of such interventions.

It’s also essential to note that treating schizophrenia typically involves a combination of medication, therapy, and support services. While improving gut health may be a complementary approach, it’s unlikely to be a standalone treatment for schizophrenia. As always, anyone considering making changes to their treatment plan should consult with a healthcare professional.

Yea I’m trying to improve my gut health anyway I might get suspended for pseudoscience so I’ll say no more.

Anyway I believe that what works for me may not work for another. So you may have one lifestyle and me another. To me, neither is therefore wrong :tada:
