It is stupid. I was trying to help mum with legal papers and sure enough easy and straight forward but I could not understand even though it was written plain and simple. I don’t know whats going on. It is even happening at work but not to the extent of crying. I just scared to make mistakes at this point.
I hear ya, Abilify makes it kind of hard for me to read too. I just have to keep trying until it clicks and I enter a flow state where I start understanding what is being read.
It’s not the Abilify though as I have been on that 8 years. This happens on and off to me. I think its coming back…
Ah, ok. Well, hope it goes away then!
I’m fairly sure practice is what helps the brain train itself to read better though.
Its just lawyer talk, I had the same thing when getting my mortgage. They take something simple and try and make it sound as complex as possible.
I cannot read books anymore…I wish I could…there are only a few books I will attempt to read but I haven’t gotten them yet.
it’s okay, honey.
I get not knowing how to talk to Congress.
@anon80629714 take calm deep breathes in then let them out slow . It should help you refocus. Then try to read it again.
Hey, I get so drained at times that when ever someone posts a lengthy post I use the Microsoft text to speak program to do the reading for me. It is a big help.
hey ish i know what you mean. One thing you gotta remember though is that legal papers are EXTREMELY artificial in their logic, almost mechanical. Legal papers dont state things the way we normally would so its normal even when you’re healthy not to comprehend it fully. I think its even done sometimes on purpose to make things vague while still getting the legal points in there that make the contract binding. Im sure you’re much healthier than you think, maybe you just panicked?
