I’m on a very strict diet. I’m doing ok at i- I don’t cheat. I’ve been on it 10 weeks. But I’m starting to crave foods I can’t have. The diet is supervised by a dr, and is extremely restrictive. I get 5 supplements a day which have all the nutrients I need, and 1 meal a day consisting of 1 serving fruit, 2 servings of vegetables and 1 serving of protein. I can’t cook with any oils or salt. I’m not hungry really, just craving food.
I think you’d be crazy not to crave food on a diet that restrictive! It sounds like it would be pretty difficult to do, if it were me doing it. Maybe i’m not disciplined enough. Try to focus on the weight you’ve lost and the results you want to see and less on the food you’re missing out on. Good luck.
Wow, sounds tough. Can you chew gum? Popsicles or ice chips?
I can drink as much herbal tea as I want as long as there’s no cream or sugar or milk or anything. I can chew ice chips. I’m supposed to drink 8-10 glasses of water a day. No gum. No popsicles
@disciple. The hardest part is knowing that because it’s so easy for me to gain weight, I will have to eat a similar diet for the rest of my life.
I am craving Thai food and Vietnamese food.
I love Thai vegetable curry. So good!
I like Thai curry too also satay chicken and som tum salad.
@LilyoftheValley I am going through the same problem on my strict diet and having food cravings. My nutrition doctor said that many psychiatric medications cause food cravings and compulsions. I don’t know if you recently started a new medication, but I started on the perphenezine and I get really bad cravings with it. I hope you are doing okay. I’m rooting for you!!!
Thanks @anon78876561! I started Haldol a couple months ago. I don’t think it’s associated with food cravings though. I’m rooting for you too!
