I got my covid shot last Saturday. After five minutes my heart started to race into the 150s, I got light headed, short of breath and started throwing up. Paramedics were there, monitored me for an hour, then let me go home to rest and see my doctor.
My heart has not stopped racing and skipping beats. Tonight I had to go to the Er for shortness of breath, racing heart, palpitations and throwing up. My blood work showed I have a clotting disorder which I didn’t have before the shot. They said I’m having an adverse reaction to the vaccine and that I shouldn’t take the second dose as my heart is still not okay and my blood is rapidly clotting. I’m troubled. Don’t know what I should do. It is apparently effecting my heart and they aren’t sure if this will go away. They are afraid I will develop a blood clot, especially since I’m bedridden.
They put me on a blood thinner but I have ruptured a ligament and need reconstructive surgery. So I have to stop taking the blood thinner, before I get surgery. This is so screwed up.
If I don’t take the second dose, do I have to start from the beginning? And get them all over again. They did a covid test and it is negative.
@anon78876561 there have been some deaths due to blood clotting combined with low levels of blood platelets. Not many, but some. This is a very rare condition normally, so it is linked to the vaccine. Have they done a platelet count test on you?
I don’t know if it’s a standard test before administering blood thinners but I’d make sure it was done and was normal just to be sure.
You are lucky being alive. That is terrible. I usually faint a little bit after my depotinjection, so i am advised to hang around the surgery for 10 min.I remember my depressed friend didn’t care about the covidrules cause he was suicidal already. He didn’t understand why we don’t wanted to hang out with him.
Thank you all. I’m so gutted. I want to give up. I have to wait to get my hand surgery because the anesthesia doctor refused to do it due to my condition. I have to have it done in a hospital setting in case it gets bad. I have a celiac plexus block too. I’m overwhelmed with my life right now.
Don’t lose hope! You just have to get through this and then you can have your hand surgery. Is there someone with you in the hospital? Are you allowed to have visitors? You shouldn’t feel alone now.
I’m home. They had me in the trauma section all night. They gave me fluids, dilaudid, motorphine. because I was throwing up constantly,. I also have mild pancreatitis.
Maybe being home is safer for you now. I understand that’s it’s too much for you at the moment but hang in there. Get lots of rest, don’t be hard on yourself, and don’t hesitate to call your doctor or the hospital if anything changes.
There have been some reports in the news recently of potential blood clotting issues in Europe with the AstraZeneca vaccine.
This article describes a hypothesis by German clotting specialist Andreas Greinacher of the University of Greifswald, as to what may be happening and to possible treatment for the clotting issue.
It couldn’t hurt to bring this article to your doctor’s attention.
