Courage and Constancy

Recovery is about listening
to the voice with the courage to say,
“It’s where I left it.”

Whatever bogus delusions we have
about a moral world order
telling us otherwise,

the voice of reason still is there,
however tiny in the commotion,
to proclaim imperiously:

"It’s where I left it!!"
And the sun dawns as just the sun
on a red-letter day.

Courage takes a lot of effort. Maybe sometimes it comes without effort. But with effort we can all be courageous and become the great people we want and wish to become.

There’s also a difference between courage and resignation, which is passive and apathetic. When you act bravely and with caring, then I’d call it being of moral worth.
