Do you think it is easier to live with a psychotic disorder in the city or the country? Why?

For me the country is better. Ive lived in both and prefer things a bit quieter.

When I had my last big psychotic break in 2015, I moved in with my Mum in the country. It really helped heal me. Less people to be paranoid about, less noise pollution. And it’s a calming aspect from the back verandah.
Although she has moved now. But I still think where she is now, which is close to the beach, would be wonderful for me if I were psychotic again. I think a lot of it comes down to being cared for by Mum. Nothing beats Mum love.

Both is fine, whatever.
But in the city i walk around all night by myself, it’s all mine usually. Everybody thinks i’m strange probably but i’m normally just grabbing a bite or something or enjoying the cool air.

Country by far. City is overcrowded, loud and full of danger. Not good for paranoia at all.

More services in the city here and I am in a capital city…um …well…suburbs around the capital of my State. So services are pretty good to get to the services in the first place.

I have to say it’s a lot more easy to live in the country with this illness. I’ve been re-diagnosed as sza but I wonder if I am paranoid sz (that was my initial diagnosis).
Anyways, all the damn noise, crime, gangs, and people who harass and pray on those with mi is just terrible in my city. I’ve been wanting to move to somewhere more rural forever.
Not that you can’t find those problems in rural areas. But when you do it’s not so in-your-face and as dominant of a problem as in the cities.
