Could you live off $155 a week once your bills and expenses are paid?

Eating healthy is expensive :weary: its no wonder that low income people have obesity.

Shoot I have a lot less than that after bills are paid and I get by

@bobbilly if they change money to vouchers we may not have a choice in where we spend vouchers but i hope not

Itā€™s a crime that unhealthy food is so cheap and healthy food the opposite.

Mine is in the Ā£50- 70 range. Having major executive functioning deficits when it comes to organising and planning means that menu planning for the week is a non starter.

Not sure about you but I am not good at managing food in my freezer

Can probably spend less I think if I start defrosting food

In my apartment the freezer was basically a bin because I could never get things out of it

So mostly fresh ready meals and pizza

One thing I cook well is pasta

Takes 10 mins and is a filling meal

Try to do that at least once a week

I do an OK spaghetti Bolognese . Spending about Ā£14-15 a week on drinks(not alcohol) and Ā£7-10 on snacks ,that doesnā€™t help in my case-I guess.

I believe so. Iā€™d need gas, laundromat money, and food. I believe $30+$20 leaves $105 for food.

I couldnā€™t live on 155 dollars, cause I use this tobacco product called snus and itā€™s about 9 dollars per box, and I use a box a day.

I replaced some snacks with apples

Also trying to do some smoothies as an alternative

They sell the frozen diced fruit so just have to blend with yoghurt and/or milk

I did home made smoothies for a while at my previous address. It wasnā€™t a cheap thing to do.

Even frozen fruit is getting expensive. We buy ours from a restaurant wholesaler.

Weirdly the Asian market has fresh veggies for a reasonable price. I can buy lotsa super strange fruits there, too. :joy:

I didnā€™t think that healthy food is much expensive if you choose the right things and you have time to confect it

Iā€™d feel rich if I had $155 a week after my bills and expenses are paid.

Not much new Nick, other than taking a break from hobbies, and I quit caffeine, which was worth it, feeling noticeably calmerā€¦ :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes thatā€™s over 20 dollars a day which I find to be a comfortable food budget. Mine is 15/day and I get by.
