But it would surely mess up the action of my med. Fortunately, the stores are all closed and further, I don’t wanna waste money. But I feel the craving for something cold, fizzy, and full of sugar. Maybe I’ll buy a Coke in the morning. That was always my placebo of choice. I ate a whole 1.75qt container of ice cream yesterday, which a lot of alcoholics in recovery will do when craving. I also eat a lot of white bread, as something in it tastes like beer/ale. Any ideas out there? My voices are managed now, nonexistent. Don’t want to mess that up with a stupid impulse.

I recommend apple cider if you liked hard ciders.

Thanks. Does cider contain alcohol? I’m not allowed to have any. But apple juice sounds good – esp sparkling?

Sometimes just a club soda will do the trick. No liquor, just fizzy water.
Sometimes I put a splash of the left-over juice from a bottle of olives or pickle into a glass of tomato juice. Maybe some hot-sauce or black pepper too. It’s like you’re mixing a fancy drink, but again, no liquor.

I wish I could get a-hold of Snap-E-Tom here as in bygone days, but there’s a Langers veggie juice with Serrano peppers I might walk the couple of miles to buy. Your mention of tom juice made me think of it. Thank you. I crave tomatoes sometimes for the sodium. A jar of dill pix would hit the spot, too, but it’s 3am.

Also apple juice or sparkling apple juice

Sounds delicious Tends to go down too fast, tho. Think I’ll go for spicy veggie when Bi-Mart opens at 9am. I have a Rx to pick up anyway. Will make a little mission of it. Jeez, insomnia in the wee hours sucks. But I’m not delusional anymore. No religious thought at all. No morality of any kind. Just naturalistic.

They sell a kinda non-alcoholic beer here. It’s 0.5 % alcohol. We can buy it in Safeway. Maybe that would work?

Yes, in the western States we have O’Doul’s and Sharps. Very like the real thing. Kinda spendy, tho, and my food stamps will buy the juices. But that’s a good idea, thank you.

Would if I could, but it’d put me right back on the road to perdition, so to speak. I’d be doing a case a day and bankrupting myself and ruining my mental and physical health. Not worth it… Hope you enjoy yours, tho. Have a cold one for me!
