I know when it comes to chili to double the amount of tomato sauce it says on the back of the seasoning packet if you want a thicker chili.
For example if the seasoning packet says “8 ounces of tomato sauce” then add an extra 8 onces of tomato sauce, or even triple the amount if you want a thicker chili.
I used to make a lot of “scrambles”. I use to use a lot of onions, bell peppers, jalapeno’s, asparagus, fresh garlic. I don’t like a lot of vegetables but these are the ones I can stand. I was on the Atkins diet so I usually had meat on hand. If I needed to use up vegetable’s or beef or shrimp before they went bad I chopped up those vegetable’s and chopped up the meat and cooked it in a frying pan and then added two or three eggs. It usually made enough for two or three meals.
I put this in a thread the other day, it’s the KISS method. Keep it simple stupid. Let your ingredients speak for themselves. Don’t go getting all complicated and trying to be fancy.
We do all our grocery shopping on Sunday, so often times Saturday means are just me trying to clean out the fridge. They’ve started being some of my favorite meals, though. Like, a handful of all these different veggies and some sauces and whatever scraps of meats we have left or cheeses. It’s a lot of fun to see what I can come up with.
