Conspiracy theories are becoming mainstream

I am so confused right now. I like to ask people whenever I have a belief that might be a ridiculous conspiracy theory. My main worry now is that Trump is going to put all Syrian Americans in internment camps, and I won’t be able to escape it. And I say this to my friends, and they all just nod and add another terrible thing that might happen. How am I supposed to know what is a real worry and what is a conspiracy theory when the mainstream neurotypical world has the exact same fears?!

Sorry in advance mods, I just need help with this right now, and there isn’t anywhere else to turn, really.

Worry’s are always about the future. Try to just be present and deal with your life day to day.
People love to focus on the “what ifs”

Normies have their conspiracy theory moments too. Nobody’s going to put Syrian Americans into camps.

Most conspiracy theorists are neurotypicals… So, please aknowlege it as a conspiracy theory and move on. I don’t think you have anything to worry about. Keep yourself away from that kind of thinking, please. Don’t let politics disrupt your life that much.

i swear to god this is not meant to be mean. as long as they’re entertained. you’re friends i mean. i think it’s great you can share thoughts with them that you think might be crazy and you’re okay with it and they’re okay with it.

You’re right, Minnii. You’re always so logical. It’s kind of ironic that the neurotypicals got me riled up over this, and the schizophrenics are the ones who calmed me down. But I guess we have more practice with using rational thinking to dismiss conspiracy theories.

Thanks to everyone. This site is so good for working through paranoia and delusions!

No worries…it would never fly…america has tried this at least twice…the backlash albeit late was severe enough they won’t try again…plus they have the NSA now if they want to monitor you its easy enough without being hands on invasive…

People on my Facebook are talking about the Rothchilds like it’s just shooting the breeze lol

That’s one of the things I hate the most about having a psychotic illness. You just can’t enjoy your conspiracy theories anymore like you used to.
All the sudden the government becomes trustworthy
And people are good. There’s no such thing as Chem trails and the DEA is no longer monitoring your electric bill or listening to your phone calls. This is all because of CBT post psychotic episode, and disavowing your paranoid delusions.

What do you mean by this?

Meanwhile I wonder if they have a profile on all of us schizophrenics in Washington. Maybe our doctors have to turn us in to some secret organization

@MeghillaGorilla1, you know it’s a common sense rule not to fuel each others’ delusions. Please stop.

CBT= confronting irrational thoughts after a psychosis, cognitive behavioral therapy is supposed to eliminate psychotic thinking.

CBT is supposed to help you question your thoughts and put coping skills into action. It doesn’t miraculously get rid of your symptoms, of course.

That too but there are some professionals that feel it can help us lower our medication if we get good at it.

If you’re alright, than you shouldn’t be on heavy doses of meds. You probably tried but it wasn’t the time. Don’t blame it on the CBT, there is nothing to blame, it’s just the chemistry of your brain.

This election cycle has been excessively nasty. Various organizations on both sides of the political spectrum have deployed coercive psychological techniques in an attempt to gain more votes. I’ve never seen so much fear and hate from an election result in my life. A lot of conspiracy theories were deployed in an attempt to make the results of the election seem more important than they actually were.

I disagree with Trump, but he is no Adolf Hitler. You’re not going to be put in an internment camp. The US government isn’t going to pay any attention to you at all unless you’re doing something very illegal.
