Concussions and mental illness

I’ve had lots of concussions in the past from playing contact sports. Maybe my history with brain injuries plays a role in me having mental health issues.

Anyone here ever had a concussion, or multiple of them?

Only a couple of them so far as I know and after I had SZ.

Looking back I’ve always been a bit different. I was pretty active so my share of headknocks but for me I think the sz was always there. It’s an interesting question though as they are just starting to see the research into concussion especially in sport. I honestly wouldn’t rule anything out but head knocks aren’t healthy for sure.

I’m worried about getting dementia later on in life.

I’d say by the time even I get to a more advanced age the medical knowledge will be considerably better. Try not to think too much about things that may or may not happen. I know it’s hard but keep busy on positive things rather than the negative and life becomes just that much easier to do.

My fist concussion was from skating with no helmet in grade 5 smashed my head pretty good on that ice. Then my second one was in grade 8 i smashed my head on the ground from fighting somebody in school… musta puked about 3 or 4 times. Then in grade 9 i got the worst one from playing football helmet to helmet. Oh boy that was terrible puked alot

Ive had a bunch of minor ones. Seen stars lots of times.

I have experienced it few times like lost consciousness in public maybe due to beer or alcohol and there are times when my mind goes to a pause state where I feel like I don’t remember what I was thinking or doing or what I need to do next. It sometimes takes time to resume or sometimes it does not.

I used to use a skateboard and idk how many times I hit my head and idk how many concussions I’ve had I’m assuming a few but idk i just didn’t go see a doctor
