Does anyone ever get the delusion that people are wearing certain colors to send you a message? Usually they are religiously based (blue is Jewish, red is Christian, etc.)
Does anyone else get this?

This is a new one to me. I have synesthesia so I associate certain smells with colours, but that’s a different beast.
We aren’t going to let this be a religious thread, right? Please?
When I was psychotic first time, I associated hair colors with ancient civilziation ethnicity, for example: all blondes were roman and brunettes were greek
I did this when I was symptomatic. Colors are also used in politics.
Yes i heard about it, but colours symbolise different meanings from culture to culture.
I’ve known someone who had a special meaning for the color red in her psychoses.
I’ve never heard of blue and red referring to particular religions. Here (USA) one thinks of politics, red, blue, and purple states, but I don’t want to get flagged for politics or religion.
In Nazi Germany it was yellow, six-pointed stars, and pink triangles for LGBTQ. I forget the one for a political dissident. Things aren’t that way in Germany today. I really enjoyed history FYI.
Here’s a link to the Holocaust Library of concentration camps if you’re interested TW
Some of my ancestors were victims.
I read this link, and it said homosexual men were put into concentration camps. I guess that doesn’t include all LGBTQ people, such as lesbians. I stand corrected.
I thought the colors of cars were being coordinated to send me messages.
Its called delusions of reference
A delusion of reference is the belief that un-related occurrences in the external world have a special significance for the person who is being diagnosed. So, for example, a delusion of reference might occur when someone watches a movie and believes there is a message in the movie that is meant specifically for them, and that makes some kind of “sense”. Delusions of reference may also occur in other media. For example, a person may believe there are messages for them in music. One of the more prominent examples of this is the Laurel Canyon cult leader Charles Manson, who believed he was receiving injunctions to act in certain ways from certain Beatles songs.
I have that one as well.
It’s been a few months since it’s surfaced again, so that’s good.
Some colors have meaning white dress at wedding, black at funerals, gangs
I would ask what color ■■■■smells like, but well… you know…
My apologies if I went too far @shutterbug . I bent the rules last night and I was a little high while reading the board. In my head it was funny, in reality was not.
Cheers
It is against the rules to post while under the influence. Rule bending isn’t advised. Please avoid this in the future. My suggestion next time is that you ask your account to be silenced until you recover. Many thanks.
I have/had the colour delusion, although in my case it was to do with the energy a person has. It used to freak me out when I felt an energy change then someone would go and change their shirt colour.
I had this with cars around me in traffic too and to a lesser extent more or less everything when I was really bad before meds.
Colour meanings are one of my early warning signs that I’m not doing well.
That white-gold or blue-black dress optical illusion from a few years ago did a number on me.
