Cola adjustment being eyed for next year

I hear social security will get another increase next year…still up in the air about how much though.

I made a cola adjustment as well. I don’t allow myself more than one diet soda or diet gatorade a day. Tell you what, water gets old.

It’s going to be pretty low from what I’ve read. This year it was only 3.2, I think next year it will be 2.-something, but it depends how inflation goes July through September.

In a more serious post, I prefer the Cola adjustment to be low. Because:

  1. It really doesnt give you more money because everything costs more when inflation is high.

  2. Anything you have saved is worth less and less with inflation.

What it breaks down to is any increase in dollars is spent faster and any money you have saved is worth less.

AND, on top of that it is paid a year AFTER the increases in costs have happened so in reality you are losing money.

It’s great that we have it in an attempt to keep up, but the reality is that the appearance that you somehow have more purchasing power is just an illusion.

yes, every time they add the cola adjustment, they take it away in food stamps.

Lately been drinking “Dasani”, but we get a variety of brands.
