Since starting meds 5 months ago my cognitive symptoms have been getting much better and I can now read for an hour at a time without getting frustrated. Just a few days ago I started appreciating small things about my day and feel it might mean my negative symptoms are also improving. I really hope this is the case. Energy is still low, but I feel my negative symptoms are manageable. Is it possible for negative symptoms to recover with time? Thanks for the support on here!
I’ve been feeling the exact same way lately, and your success story motivates me. I’m glad you’re getting better. (:
I feel like my cognitive and negative symptoms are actually caused by my meds so I don’t know if they will ever get better or not.
I don’t generally take anxiety meds on a consistent basis but my stress got real high and I took them for days in a row. Magically, doing my schoolwork got a LOT easier. I could focus, reason and comprehend without a fight. Maybe it’s something similar to that.
My IQ has risen ten points since exercising everyday, taking nootropic medications, doing a special yoga pose everyday that makes you smarter, eating almonds everyday, and drinking a glass of tea everyday. And also eating a well balanced diet everyday. And also practicing Ayurveda every morning and eating an Ayurvedic diet. I noticed that my problem solving ability has returned and my memory has greatly improved. I’m not losing things all the time anymore. I don’t have to write every little task that I have to do for the day down on paper anymore either, I can remember without doing that.
Almonds and tea both improve cognition and the memory. So does exercise. So does a well balanced diet.
Nootropic medications are specifically for boosting your cognition. You can get them online. A good brand is Cognitex Basics.
You can Google Ayurveda regimen and Ayurveda diet on the internet if you want more information on Ayurveda.
That’s possible. I drink tea too and take nootropics on occasion. I feel like it’s helping with problem solving as well. Maybe you are getting better. In general I feel like my quality of life and interest in things are growing like it hasnt happened since my predromal phase and pre medicated phase. I’ve been on Latuda for 6 months. The only thing that’s not improving is my tiredness. I’m hopeful that I’ll get better soon!
