Coffee is numbing my feeling of being bored

I’ve cut way down on coffee. I’m not buying any more pods when I’ve used up the ones I have as I just want to quit it. I’ve been trying to quit for months.

So imagine my horror when I realised it’s doing a good job of numbing my feelings of boredom :joy:

But maybe boredom is good. I might actually end up doing something productive to beat the boredom.

I have to quit coffee as I can’t seem to take it in moderation and it’s causing me problems (physical pains etc)

Coffee will give you the energy to get interested in something else.

I’m totally addicted to 100% decaf coffee. It must be psychological. I drink a pot and a half a day. My dad used to do the same thing only his was caffeinated. Every cup with cream and sugar.

I feel you man… at this point I do 3 40 hours stints of no smoke, no coffee, no booze per week.

Otherwise I’m still highly indulgent…

Caffeine is a pain because its half-life is 60 hours… nearly 3 days before chemical retention dissipates and the body actually has a chance to sort itself out on those subtle levels.

Really 3 days detox from everything will only lead to 12 hours of actual natural chemistry…

Getting there is one thing, staying there though… that’s when the long term shackles of withdrawal can start to lift.

It’s worth pushing for every moment at that point… but yeah… around 40 hours and I’m about ready to claw my eyes out.

Trying to restoke the flames of intellectual pursuit to provide myself with some more potential avenues of application. My transition to a more devout sense of tackling one of my bigger ideas one of these days.

That said… and this goes along with most of you… my life has been pretty rough for about a decade now… just finally getting to the point where my head is above water.

You’re a good one @everhopeful… Best of luck.
