I know some including me are a little, or more, skeptical of this approach, but posting as it seems to be gaining ground as an alternative to mainstream approaches.

I’m lost. I’ve never had an open discussion in the hospital with friends, relatives, coworkers.

More info on this approach (very early in its research and unproven):

Open Dialogue: A New Approach to Mental Healthcare

There has been much hype about it, on very limited evidence, by those strongly opposed to mainstream approaches to treatment.
Hopefully more research will give us a clearer and more accurate picture of its value in treating psychosis and severe mental illness.
