Hi. I am on clozapine and I was thinking of going to olanzapine. What is your experience? What is better for you? Clozapine or olanzapine?

On Clozapine you gain weight and then stop.
On Olanzapine you constantly gain weight.
Tried both,no big difference but like Clozapine more.
i would pick olanzapine over clozapine cause it gave me much less side effecfs. the only side effect i had from olanzapine was weight gain. with clozapine i had weight gain, drooling, and tachycardia and high blood sugar.
They are both powerful meds. Im on Olanzapine. Never tried Clozapine.
I’m on libalvy which is olanzapine mixed with another drug that counteracts the weight gain from olanzapine.

I would pick clozapine. I actually lost weight on clozapine and would still be on it if it hadn’t of affected my heart. Olanzapine just made me want to eat all the time.
Olanzapine makes me eat and I’ve been prediabetic for years because of it. Only reason I haven’t stopped it is because it treats my symptoms very effectively.
I want to try something stronger than latuda for my thought broadcasting… if i can get rid of that i can go back to work !!!
But the side effects …
I take olanzapine. From what I read from others on the forum clozapine has more side effects.
I did gain weight on olanzapine, but with determination and willpower I made sure to never go above 100kgs. Meaning excersising, eating healthy, and sustaining hunger feeling sometimes. The most important is to not be hungry before I go to bed. Beeing hungry sometimes in the day time I can deal with.
I was on 10mg at the most, except for brief periods at the psych hospital. The higher the dose the harder it is to deal with hunger issues.

Why do you say that?
I just find it hard to fall asleep if I’m hungry.
