Chipped a tooth

I’m going to call the dentist tomorrow, but what can I do for the pain tonight? I’m allergic to all painkillers except OTC ones.

Sorry about that. I don’t really know what to do about the pain other than ibuprofen. Make sure to steer clear of any food or drink that is too hot or cold

Tea, toast and then a bath…

Just don’t drop the toaster into the bath!

A 20% benzocaine solution might help. You can get it at Wal Mart.

Rinse with warm salted water and take some Tylenol?

I’m sorry you’re in pain. I hope you can get in to the dentist tomorrow.

Orajel is a 20% benzocaine solution. You sometimes can buy a generic brand of the exact same stuff at a dollar store for $1. It costs $6.00 at Walmart. I’ve got like 12 tubes of the stuff in my room. If someone has a toothache I give them a tube. Also, buy some q-tips with it. That’s about the only way to apply it.

I have a fake front tooth from falling face first into ice while I was ice skating. Half of it was chipped off.

I think it was benzocaine or novocaine (some type of caine) (waits for jokes) that helped with initial pain.

My dentist prescribes taking 500 mg tylenol qith 600 mg ibuprofen. Same time. It really helped with extraction pain, no harder drugs needed. Only for up to 7 days.

I don’t know about the pain, but dentek makes some awesome goo that you can put over a broken tooth to keep it safe and protect the rest of your mouth from scratches and such. It’s like $2 at Walmart.

I’ve used that, it worked well.

My dentist said that tylenol and ibuprofen are just as effective as vicodin.

It helped a lot after my tooth extraction, but didnt do much before the extraction when the nerve was nicked after a cavity filling. That was excruciating.

Cloves help numb a nerve. My dentist treats dry socket with clove oil. It tastes gross, but ground cloves numbs for a long time.

Good news everyone! My dentist could see me today. It was my filling that broke, not my tooth, so it was a quick job of refilling the broken part and sending me on my way! It feels great now, and I was out the door in a half hour!
