Chess grandmasters show the same longevity advantage as elite athletes



You have to be in great physical shape to play an 8-hour game of chess–especially at grandmaster level. I can’t remember a World Chess champion older than 42.

The difference between chess players and American football players or rugby players is you can play chess till you die. Even if you can’t win past a certain age.
