Changes in negative symptoms are linked to white matter changes in superior longitudinal fasciculus in individuals at ultra-high risk for psychosis

I hope its not permanent brain damage.

God, I’m too tired to read through anymore scientific articles. Anyone want to summarize?
Does it just basically say we are all screwed?

It doesn’t say that - they just found that there was higher fractional anisotropy in the right superior longitudinal fasciculus over time in the group with increased negative symptoms. I don’t know much about it but google says increased fractional anisotropy indicates higher mylenation and a lower degree of neural branching.

If they’re able to understand a neural basis for the symptoms, that would mean better possibilties to treat the actual underlying cause.
