I was asleep but my wife awoke me to tell me she needed help…the dogs were going crazy in the back yard and they killed a cat…so sad…I can’t stop crying…

Sorry, i don’t know what to say, hope you feel better soon. Animals act like that sometimes. My pet Rabbit was killed by a dog.

They’re animals and sometimes they do that. I’m curious what breed they are. Some breeds are more prone to hunting than others.
Missy is a white mix with brown spots…so vicious…this is her second cat within two years…Max is a larger brown mix dog, and helped her this time…he is learning from her…makes me so sad…I wish they weren’t natural killers…can’t be mad at them though…

By mix do you mean pitties? Pitbulls can be the sweetest dogs you’ll ever have, but they can also be the fiercest when it comes to hunting prey.
They’re not bad dogs. They’re just following their instincts. They can’t help it. I’m sure they’re very good dogs

@LilyoftheValley no they aren’t pitbulls…they are just mixed breeds…both rescues…missy is more the hunter than Max, until now…going to be a lot more careful when we let them out now.

It’s natural for dogs to go after cats
My frenchie will occasionally try to chase my cat from time to time
Even though he’s being trained not to
Today he lunged at a stray cat that showed up at my front porch
Thank goodness he was inside the house
There is a difference between chasing cats and killing them. Next step is kids due to size. They need training and to be muzzled on the leash whenever out.

the dogs are good with children and babies…it’s just cats…they are free to roam the back yard without muzzles…it is just unfortunate…
Honestly I’m more worried about my cat scratching my pups bulging eyes
My dog wouldn’t kill my cat
But yeah you are right @sweetpotatopie there is a difference between chasing and killing

I witness two dogs and a cat plus dog and a rat day before yesterday.
