Of course it can. Freud believed that our personalities were determined at a very early age. I don’t know about that. The influence of early experience is strong, but so is the influence of our peers as we enter adulthood.
When my son was a newborn, I was amazed at the strength of his personality. He was just a little baby, and yet, he was an individual, very separate and unique already. The way I raised him, and the events of his childhood, still had an affect/effect on him, though. It’s the combination of his personality and all the relationships and events that make him who he is now.
