Can you think straight around noise?

I don’t have the ability to and think/understand if there is sound around me. I have to focus so hard to understand what someone is saying, and I often have to ask them to repeat things. I feel like I can’t think. I’m not as bad in regular conversation- just if there’s noise. Is that an sz/sza thing? Or is it just me?

I don’t know if it’s a schizophrenia thing,

But I can’t think with a lot of noise around either.

I keep the TV really low even when I’m actively watching it,

Everyone always complains that they can’t hear.

No, I have problems focusing. I also hallucinate when multiple people are talking at once, I keep getting “secret messages.”

If it’s rhythmic noise I can think fine. Like music I work better with.

But talking or things without a constant beat my brain implodes

Also at first i thought this post was about me lol

That’s cute! I can think fine around you, though. :kissing_smiling_eyes:

My kids think it is hilarious when I have to turn off the radio in the car when I’m trying to figure out where I’m going.
