Can you speak up to your doctor when you think he's wrong?

I never did and I think I get caught in the doctor trap when I don’t consider speaking up.

I couldn’t get him to understand certain things. I was reticent with my doctor because I was afraid I would project my conflicts with my dad onto him.

Yeah I stand up for myself pretty fiercely.

“Can you speak up to your doctor when you think he’s wrong?”

yes you can. in fact, it’s a doctor’s job because a MI requires an understanding of your mind and mood.

he might not listen or act accordingly though.

I wrote “Can you…” not “May you.” because I thought it would open up a tidal wave of rage if I did.

I don’t see the difference though.

oi, I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed…

“Can I” means “Do I have the ability to”… “May I” means “do I have permission to”.

My pdoc is never wrong. He’s the smartest man at the hospital where he works. That’s what the employees at that hospital tell me anyway. I’m very blessed to have him as my pdoc.

Started to. Called him out on something and gave in and agreed in the end. Mostly they are just trying to judge your mental state so unless it’s totally out there I don’t think they really care to be honest.
