Can we make the world a better place? POLL

I donate money to several worthy causes. I also volunteer for my Church. Been doing all this for many years now.

I’d probably dig a gigantic hole as far as I could to the center of earth then drop FOAB. I much prefer Mars.

Genocide would be someone’s idea of making the world a better place. I don’t advocate for genocide either.

It’s not that I think people shouldn’t want better for the world, or to not do good when they can, it’s just when people try to force good, it usually has negative consequences. Making the world a better place sounds great, but the ideas on how to get there are usually lazy in thought, and orchestration.

That being said, life is just the gateway to death. I don’t see the problem with people dying, even by the masses. I’m all for letting the world carry out its troubles and playing witness to it.

I like the saying life is just a gateway to death. I’m not a fan of anything else you said. It seems callous.

It’s not said with callousness, just an honest look at the world, and how people operate. I’m not tied up in emotion over my view of the world. It is what it is. One day everyone will be dead. It’s just fact.

The world is too big so I work with what is right in front of me. Things like holding the door for an elderly person and saying hello to them can brighten up their day. No elderly person never told me to piss off when I do that.

Also small things like donating blood or saying thank you and have a nice day to a surly store clerk helps too.

My thoughts.

I voted other.

Lately, I have been telling customer service reps, Thank you, have a nice day!, and its really making a difference in the whole interaction and in my mood.

I try and make it better as much as i can by telling jokes and its really great if you can do that, making people laugh really makes the world better in my opinion

I want robots to supplant humanity. For a better world. :slightly_smiling_face: I will try to work towards this goal.

The Jetsons was way ahead of its time.

The UN developed global goals. I got to know this site coincidentally. It tells me what we can do as a global community. I try not to be abusive, violent etc. as usual. I think I am a good boy. Take my medication and mind the problems in my local community to what I can do.

The best way to improve the world is to make choices that help in your own community. Donate to a food bank or school lunch program if you can. Give blood. Volunteer coach kids sports. If you’re literate, help adults who have trouble with reading gain their own literacy. If you find that rare politician who can make a difference, be one of their volunteers.

These are the things that really add up if enough people are doing it.

I hope the world can be a better place.

maybe if we pray hard enough that could evoke change. a common goal, i think most people want to see things improve in this world but how can we turn those thoughts into proper constructive action, even the smallest thing can make the biggest change.

Prayers are too innocent to stop
Or protect people
In dire straights.
We need action!

I think when we’ve hit the religion we’ve covered the topic enough!
