Yes, I believe other people can add to the quality of your life, if thats what you are asking. I would be pretty miserable if I had no family or friends.

Familly is who sticks to you. Without them would be really tough. Friends have different matters to take care of.

i understand why people misunderstand sz/sza
This is different for everybody. Not everyone has a decent family. Some people get a bad luck of the draw in that department. And opposingly, some friends wont abandon you no matter what.

Some certainly can (thinking of AA), but others are harmful and should be avoided (like my mom). I try to limit my friends to those with qualities I admire.
