My first onset of schizophrenia began when i moved to a new state.
I heard that it is one undervalued source of stress and therefore ‘trigger’.
Drastic changes in life can sometimes trigger psychosis. Moving house, losing a partner, changing one’s lifestyle all can influence this illness, but only those who are genetically predisposed will get it.
So did mine. But there were a lot of other stressors in the mix too
The year I relapsed was also the year I moved away from home and got married and moved twice more. So the stress of it can be a trigger.
Immigration can cause schizophrenia. I watched a BBC documentary about schizophrenia, and immigration is one of the triggers it said. High stresses can come with immigration it said. Mine also happened after I immigrated, so…maybe!
Picking up a quarter off the street can cause Sz.
No one has a clue how we get it or how to fix it.
The best we can do is focus on changing the bad behaviors into something useful so we aren’t dependent all our lives.
Yeah, moving to a new state was the main reason for my sz. MY pdoc just thought I had the jitters about moving and underplayed it. Presto, psychosis. The man was not a good diagnostician.
