I mean when I buy people drinks all the time. I have an intellectual disability and I tend to buy people drinks all the time. I’m classed as vulnerable.

Not sure if thats much to do with compassion. You just like buying people drinks. Maybe it makes you feel good to buy someone stuff? Or do you feel sorry for the person that doesnt have money to buy one? That would be having compassion to help them out.
People can get exploited for various things. They could just use you for free drinks though and pretend they have no money. Thats more like manipulation tho

Buying people drinks is not compassion, you can be used to buy people drinks by others.

Some people like to manipulate compassionate people because they feel empathy before logic. Its just being unguarded that is the problem
I think buying someone a drink or anything is ok if its occasionally but id try not to buy for other people regularly because then it would be like their taking advantage of your kind nature and they become to expect it every time
