Can blurred vision from high blood glucose come on quickly?

All yesterday and today my vision has been blurry.

I think I should get tested for diabetes - I have enough of the risk factors that diabetes is pretty much inevitable.

I don’t think I have retinopathy but I heard just regular high blood sugar can cause temporary blurred vision.

Anyone got experience of this?

Yes high blood sugar can cause immediate impaired vision but there are many other causes for blurry vision as well.
Your better off going to see an ophthalmologist

They could get to the bottom of things

Oh I never thought about an ophthalmologist. I will make an appointment. They can direct me to the GP if needed. Thanks

My eyes get blurry if they’re dry. Plus some meds have caused me blurry vision, especially Haldol. I’m not on Haldol anymore though.

I had blurry vision when my blood sugar was 397 after a glucose tolerance test, but it went away when my body cleared the sugar. You should definitely see your doctor. If your sugar levels are continuously high it can cause a lot of issues.
