I feel like i have developed an autistic streak
This is interesting question, from what I know its not caused by medication but genetic?
I feel like my autism or what ever it is is more pronounced now im on antipsychotics. I was never what you considered normal so maybe i have always had it.
I found it interesting because not one dr suggested I have autism up until 3 years back when the psychologist and psychiatrist both suggested I get assessed. I’d been on meds 10 years by that point. (not diagnosed yet)
My psyche doc said i should be assessed but the waiting list is huge aparantly. It was never done
I felt autistic on effexor.
Im on olanzapine

First saw pdoc- autumn 1973. First regarded as having a SMI -1975. ASD dx -2019 . Answer- NO
Negative symptoms share symptoms with autism like asociality and alogia, lack of emotions etc
Maybe thats what i have then?
I had the same pdoc for 16 years
One of my old case workers told me after they diagnosed me that he made notes in the past saying he knew I was that way, but did not think it was going to be the right thing to tell me
Sadly he was right
Did an online test years ago that was pretty conclusive, but I did not give it much thought or do anything much about it
Yeah i believe Aziz is right there. I feel i share a lot of traits with autistic people due to the sz negs. The social aspects of sz show as similar to autism ive heard.
Sz and autism have a huge overlap, and meds enhance negatives sometimes .
Autism used to be called childhood sz, if I’m remembering correctly.
Autism is not something you develop later in life. It’s present at an early age, probably birth .
I get a lot of muscle stiffness from my risperdal. I am much more rigid and that throws my body language really off which makes it harder to comfortably interact with people. Its better if i try not to be so self conscious of it and some days are better than others.
