Very interesting stuff. I was actually on minocycline for a month and it actually made my symptoms worse. Maybe it just doesn’t go so well with abilify, which is a strong possibility.

But there’s a gotcha. The potential side effects of minocycline are actually worse than an AP in my opinion.

Did you hear Crohn’s disease before ?that disease cause of inflamatory of bowel system.because defence mechanism of body see bowels as a foreign matter thats why attack the bowel system and this cause inflamatory at bowels.scientists suspect same thing occur in sz.same defence mechanism attack brain instead of bowels in our case.thats the theory.and this explain why antibiotics reduce paranoia at sz patients

It’s funny you say that because apparently people with a history of an auto immune disease are at more risk of schizophrenia I believe.

yes , around one and half year ago i took antibiotics for prostatits and i realized my mental health also improved .

@jeroenp has sz from an infection, Lyme disease. Minocycline cured him 100% but he had dangerous side effects. I don’t think it helps if your sz is genetic and not infection related.

I can understand it treating psychosis but not sz. If you have some sort of toxic infection in your blood, maybe it would help. It wouldn’t affect a lifelong condition like sz though.

Oh wow. I asked this same question on a facebook group but got no answer.

I am also curious about the possible theory of an auto-immune inflammation causing schizophrenia symptoms. I started taking a mild immune suppressing anti-biotic for acne and it has given me better sleep also I have been less paranoid and haven’t hallucinated since starting it three days ago. Granted it was just mild feedback at night, but it seems to have regulated my sleep. I am sleeping more, oddly and it seems to have an anti-psychotic effect.

That’s what I am taking. Minocycline. It has cured my acne but also started helping with other symptoms just in three days.

This is a book about one such theory.

Do u have sinusitis /sinus infection issues as well? Maybe the antibiotics are working for that ?

İm not 100% sure but immune system suppressors can be use for treatment of sz in the future because of that theory that i wrote above.because scientist are very sure that schizophrenia is not totally depend on dopaminergic energy.and for my experience some antibiotics definitely help my paranoias to disappear.

I have been doing better lately with the antibiotic mentioned. It has cured my skin issues, but also has been making me sleep more fully and makes me a little more tired. In just a week my skin issues have begun to heal. I’m starting to take vitamins more regularly too but not at the same time as the antibiotic. Every day I take at least 1 25mg Zinc losenge, 1 1000 unit vitamin D tablet and I just ordered a new supplement: NIAGEN® nicotinamide riboside formula encourages production of NAD+, a coenzyme that promotes cellular energy production and supports cellular metabolism.

I’m curious to see what the new supplement does. I’ve read it helps with energy, aging, and the brain cells and body cells, and with skin.

It’s good to always look for possibilities and alternatives. I’m still taking the anti-psychotic and the strattera but I am becoming more hopeful that it won’t be forever.

Long-term use of Minocylcline does seem like a potential issue. I don’t want to be on it long-term even though my dermatologist said I may need to be on the immuno-suppressive type medicine like Humira or Monocycline long-term. I spoke to someone briefly who said she had health problems from being on types of immuno-suppressives. They can also cause cancer if used long-term and other life-threatening issues. That is why I have decided not to be on this long-term and hopefully find some other remedy for the skin issues and immune inflammation. I read that it has something to do with T-cells.

Minocycline if i survive the first 3 days puts me into a cure state of schizophrenia as if i have no brain damage at all. maybe I should try it again with a strong pro biotic, NAC biofilter or something, and a detox protocol for the jarich herxheimer… the bad citoketes cause paranoia and hallucinations the first 24 hours, its really bad.
