I am feeling really suspicious and stuff. Over the last 2 days I have had gastric flu and am currently rocking a high temperature.
In your experience can the flu exacerbate psychotic symptoms?
I’d guess it can. I get some weird stuff happening to me when I’m sick, like suspicions & worries increasing amongst other things. Fever can mess with both mind & body, so it isn’t unreasonable. Hope you get well soon!

From my personal experience, having the flu or whatnot usually makes me sleep less and be generally achy all over. So yes, this in turn makes me feel like crap which then stresses me out and then leads to my voices/paranoia flaring up. Things that stress me out generally cause me to worsen.

I would say yes, anything that puts stress onto a person can make symptoms worse.

Its was kind of an interesting concept when it stated people with mi can have a lower immune system do to stress hormones like cortisol. I had heard the brain inflammation theory before but I never looked at it thinking about the whole body.
