Bundled up...heater out of service tonight

called the landlord this morning…pilot light on the heater wouldn’t stay on long enough after waiting for it to heat up to turn on the rest of the dial for heat…maintenance man got there and said he was just going to replace the unit , fine with me…well, once he installed it, the pilot light sputtered and wouldn’t stay lit a at all…so he had me call my gas company thinking we had poor gas flow…or low pressure, my gas company said it was an emergency and went through this list of things not to do until the gas company attendant got there…anyways…gas flow was fine …heater still wouldn’t start so the maintenance man is reinstalling a new unit again tomorrow…!!

Oof. If a new thermocouple doesn’t do it then the furnace itself may have some serious issues.

Sorry man, that’s rough.

currently using a small electric heater just to warm up the living room…it is not that bad really…I didn’t mean to not mention the little electric heater, it’s not much help but it’s better than nothing.

What unfortunate timing. I’m sorry man. I’m glad you’ve got your heater.

It’s pretty cold here too. Can’t turn the heat on here either. I’m gunna get a heating blanket.

turns out there was a valve on the back of the heater that needed to be turned to Natural gas and not propane…works fine now…maintenance man had to ask the ppl at ace hardware what was going on…haha
