I’ve sometimes wondered if you could genetically engineer a robot with the exact same electro-chemical constitution as a person and programed the robot to make decisions on the basis of its make-up, would it be a conscious entity, or would it still be just a robot, because consciousness can’t be instilled into mere matter?
