I have a load of really good books but i cant read them, my mind just hasnt got the time, patience or energy to do it, sometimes a book will jump out at me and i’ll get it but then i try to read it and its just too much information, its overwhelming, anyway i’m thinking about sharing them with people in my Charity, we have a bookshelf there that i maintain, no reason to keep them if i dont think i’ll read them. they are just gathering dust atm.
In my neighborhood we have what’s called “little libraries”.
They are basically big mail boxes with books in them.
You take one, you leave one, everybody kind of makes sure they’re maintained.
It’s cool.
You should look into something like that.
Our public libraries are old buildings with creaky floors, and people who enter one are as rare as bigfoot sightings. We are perhaps the runt of the litter among all European countries. We just don’t read books anymore
I’ve started a very interesting book, but it’s been sitting on my bedside table for weeks, at least my excuse is tired eyes (my job’s got to do with computers).
we have book shares here as well but the books i want to share i want to make them available to my clubhouse members, they are very good and expensive so it seems like a good home for them,
I have some very good art books teach fantasy and other types of art, books on psychology and philosophy, professional books on social care & counselling (students and staff could use these) its better than having them boxed up in the cupboard gathering dust.
ours are like that too now, its all kind of digital now and still a lot of people don’t enjoy reading or find it difficult.
