Getting a blood test but don’t know why they want me to have my bloody tests. I understand that the biomarkers in the blood can help aid them in diagnosing or even preempting a psychotic break by using medication I think. If it doesn’t show up as something irregular then am I making if ip in my head or it shows me delusion isn’t a delusion
When you’re on antipsychotics, it’s important to have bloodtests to make sure various levels are ok.
It’s also important to rule out other causes, lile thyroid issues.
I had a friend who hallucinated vividly, but then they discovered she had a thyroid issue and when they started medicating her for that, the hallucinations stopped.
I had to have my levels of lithium tested when I was on it, and I have had to have my lamotrigine tested to be sure that it was sufficient. It’s really important to make sure your levels are therapeutic, like @Pikasaur mentioned. Listen to her; she is very wise.
I’ve never had my lamotrigine or lithium tested. Maybe i’m on a low dose so it doesn’t matter? I did just get Vit D tested and I was right on the low range of normal.
I get lithium tested every two months but I’ve never been tested for lamotrigine
