Well, my employer started a “dismissal wage fund” for each of us years ago. Basically each month they put their own money into a fund for us so when we quit or got fired we would get one lump sum. Kind of like severance pay; but different. Mine grew to $16,000! They decided recently to pay everybody off with what ever money had accumulated. But it’s not as great as it sounds; in fact it sucks. They’re going to take 30% tax off the top which would leave me with $11,000. But after four root canals I put $7500 on my credit card recently. So that’s where my money is going. That leaves me a measly $3500 and I have another dental bill for $1000. So instead of $16,000 I will get a total of $2500. Oh well, it’s better than nothing.

Yeah it would be incredible to have 15k in your pocket but getting teeth done will serve you for years more yet and you may not have had the opportunity of getting that done! I’m losing more teeth than I’m fixing and it’s eventually going to bite harder pardon the pun…$2.5k in your pocket is pretty good if you spread it around!

With today’s grocery and gas prices it will still help you out for a bit.

Better $11K than nothing. Think about how much months you would have to work to get that.
