this is linked to autism and schizophrenia
i have both of those
Mom was coming off four miscarriages and had a blood clot during pregnancy. I got the chord wrapped round my neck and was pulled out by forceps. But I’m lucky I didn’t get cerebral palsy
my mum had prior miscarriages as well as an ectopic and we (me and my 2 younger sisters)had to all be born by Ceaserian
There was too much anaesthetic given and i was without oxygen for a bit
is cerebral palsy linked as well?
cerebral palsy is related to losing breathing during birth often. It sounds like it may be but I’m not an expert on birth matters.
just looked it up
it’s not linked to lack of oxygen at birth - `cerebral palsy - in most cases
I was a cesarian baby. My mom was sick dropping down to 60 pounds.after having me.and ppd
not lack of oxygen, but a traumatic start for you!
sorry to hear
Just a bump my lovelies
I didn’t have a traumatic birth, but I was dropped on my head as a baby and nearly choked on my own vomit.
I’ve often wondered if that early concussion might have contributed to my troubles somehow, even though kid’s brains are great at rebounding.
As far as I know there wasn’t any birth trauma, but I was born a month premature.
Birth good. Had a febrial ( spelling ) convulsion when young from a high temperature. No idea how it relates but more importantly dad’s side has a history of depression. Three out of four siblings on anti depressants and my dad should be…and schizophrenia from a couple of aunts on my mum’s side.
Genetics is probably more a concern than environmentals but they could be triggers!
I know I was in a incubator for a few weeks and I had to be resuscitated
My mother had eclampsia or toxemia of pregnancy when she was pregnant with me. She came very close to death. It was my birth that saved her from death. I was born premature. I was only 4 lbs. 0 ounces. I also was placed in an incubator for several weeks. That could have contributed to my sza. That, and also the fact that my father was very MI. And, so was his mom. Also, I smoked marijuana recreationally and very consistently from age 17 to age 48 when I stopped for religious reasons.
I didn’t have any birth problems, but I was a massive baby. 9 pounds 15 ounces. I’m skinny now and 6’4" 175 lbs.
I was technically born dead. then my mom revived me afterwards, before they tried to put me in a bucket of embalming fluid.
I heard that not breathing used to always be a sign of born dead in the uk
I had concussion at primary school and I too always wondered whether it contributed. But the sz predisposition runs in my family so I think it probably didn’t make any difference.
I’m so sorry that happened to you, @DragonStorm. I’m glad you’re alive.
