Best way to get to Niagara Falls from New York?

Hi guys.
Just wondering if any of you can help me out. I’ll be in Manhattan next month and am wanting to fly to Niagara Falls. Am I best flying into buffalo or Torronto? Which is closest?

I went once by car. It is the cheapest.
I googled and by train seems around 114 bucks.

Expedia has some good offers if you sign up for alerts or Trip advisor.
I loved Niagara falls. Hope you have fun. If you have time, visit quebec city too and check out Montmorency falls. It was a magical experience for me.

Also double check all travel documents and see if you need any special document crossing borders if you do come to the other side

Serious?
Buffalo unless you want to fill out the customs paperwork 4 times.
They are on either side of the falls.

This past winter we took the Amtrak train from Albany to Niagara, ON. Customs was easy going out but coming back into the US took hours. We rode through Buffalo and from there to Niagara, NY seemed only a 1/2 hour train ride. I think Toronto is 1.5-2 hours by car or bus.

But the Canadian side is so much better than the US side, at least we thought so.

Niagara falls is much cooler on the Canadian side, but if you have your passport, you can walk over from the US side on the Friendship bridge. While you’re there, you HAVE to go on the Maid of the Mist tour. It’s so much fun! It’s a boat that takes you right up to the bottom of the falls. The boats run from both sides. The aquarium is on the US side, and that’s pretty cool. The downtown strip on the Canadian side is tons of fun, with lots of touristy attractions. I think Buffalo is close than Toronto to the actual falls.

Make sure you stay and see the falls all lit up at night! It’s so beautiful!

@Ninjastar I went to Niagara falls several times as a kid many years ago. I remember the Maid of the Mist boat ride. I also remember being able to do a walking tour that was in some sort of tunnel in the rock behind the actual falls. Do they still have that?

Its called Journey behind the falls on the Canadian side. Yes it was still open this winter when we visited.
