Besides the obvious is there something wrong with me. My case manager just told me her last day is next Wednesday. I have now been through three case managers in the last year. Wtf is wrong with me?

Not a thing, don’t take it personally. Maybe you don’t need a case manager. Are you doing good otherwise. Without one ?

I get the impression that case managers come and go a lot. I don’t have one but others on here have had similar issues.

I don’t think it’s anything to do with you.

My case worker is in grad school to become a therapist. I’ll miss her when she leaves

I remember hearing from someone on here that a lot of them as a platform to get into higher positions and turn over is very high

Maybe they liked you too much and they were afraid of getting close. Cowards.

They just leave and they say they are here as my advocate but if you really cared about your job you and everyone else wont be leaving

I have been looking for a job since April and I notice that the different social services offices, and my mental health community services board, are all constantly short staffed. It’s easy to find job postings for case workers.

I don’t think it’s you at all, I think that they have too few people to do the job, and so people burn out and quit. I see the same postings over and over…social services and the DMV. You could not pay me enough to stand at a DMV counter all day… :grimacing:

I’ve lost count of all clinicians I’ve had. They say they shut me out of their lives as soon as the sessions are over. Their “caring” is on a different level than a friend. If you want warmth, go for a friend. If you want analysis, go for the therapist. There’s a huge difference.

The door is open to you @cbbrown while you are there then they have to move on to a new life to be open to. Keep trying to get a case manager, you seem to want one badly. It is Ok persevere you may be rewarded with one soon. I’m sure they are challenged, if its a difficult case. They are used to it. Won’t you please try again?
