Benefit fraud not declaring work

My housemate from group home has been working while claiming disability benefits and he’s not declared it to benefit people. He went for a job interview again yesterday for renewal of his job as its a seasonal job. I asked him is he declaring it this time and he said no. I don’t really care what he does but he’s go another housemate who has mental capacity issues interested in jobs at the same place and he’s applying for jobs there. Things is these jobs are in London and train fare alone is £70 a return per day and its 1.30 hours away. Makes it unaffordable. I told a member of staff and they will bring it up with management. If he gets found out he’s going to be in trouble, thing is it could be years until he gets found out unless I report him myself and I don’t want to do this.

Don’t they monitor bank accounts of those on disability?

I know disability better in the US, but from what I’ve heard its very easy to lose it in UK. In US, they would automatically lower your disability unless you’re getting paid under the table.

They only check bank accounts if they think you’re committing benefit fraud and if you work full time they stop the main disability benefit called Employment support allowance/

In Belgium there is a central database that tracks your paid activities including benefits (to calculate your retirement benefits). Someone would find out easily. Unless indeed it would be paid cash.
