But, oh well, it is what it is.
My daughter: “I like being a girl - I can’t imagine living without higher brain function. Uh, sorry Dad.”
I got the “Something’s missing.” approach to being a girl.
Being a girl in today’s world doesn’t carry the same penalties it used to. Life is getting better for them.
That is true in some countries more than others. Women’s rights had to be fought for which requires an organized effort.
I wish I could be ridiculously good looking and someone marry for me for my good looks and pamper me with toys and never work for anything in my life…wait no I don’t wish that because I HATE being spoiled. Sorry to derail your thread chordy but I support feminism 100% because i hate women like this…and will marry a woman who’s equally involved in the financial part of the relationship as me…we will both pay our way in the relationship, as it should be!
If someone spoils the other, it hurts both sides. The spoiled one never learns independence while the spoiler works hard and doesn’t reap the full benefits.
Feminism all the way
About first choices this thread reminded me of a saying from a portuguese philosopher “We are born for free but spend the rest of our lives paying for it(life)”. It’s similar to Rousseau’s, but slightly different still. Unrelated I know…
Concerning the topic, sex change? anyone?
No sex change for me. I’m willing to settle for second best which one has to do all the time in this life.
True. Women are doing better in the developed world, but there are many places in the third world where women’s rights are treated abominably.
