My pup wakes up at 3am. I wake up to let her out and get the paper if its there. But then i cant fall back asleep. My mind starts racing and i cant fall back asleep. I go to bed at 8. So its technically 7 hours of sleep. But i generally dont sleep until 9 or 10. I dont know why my mind gets so active so early in the morning. I feel crazy waking up so early.
Insomnia is awful. Somehow my little Shih Tsu can hold it for a really long time so I don’t have to get up in the middle of the night to let him out. But when I do wake up, I can’t fall back asleep. I end up wide awake in the middle of the night.
Yeah. Its truly bad. My bella, black lab 1 year old, gets up twice usually. Once around 11pm and once at 3:30am. Up until 2 weeks ago id fall asleep till 7 or 8 after i let her out. But the past two weeks ive been waking up and unable to fall asleep. Im not sure if its anxiety related or not.
I just started taking hydroxyzine as needed for sleep. It’s an antihistamine like Benedryl (diphenhydramine) but makes you even sleepier. It’s effects seem to last about 4-5 hours. Is it possible to get something like that to help you fall back asleep?
I take hydroxyzine as a prn. It doesnt help me sleep. Im too used to it. I take melatonin. I usually sleep a solid 4 hours then wake up. Ive never been an 8 hour a night sleeper. I wake up multiple times. Ive been tracking my sleep with my new smartwatch. I get like an hour of deep sleep and the rest is either rem or light sleep
4 hours a night would kill me. But I do have a cousin who can sleep 4 hours and be well rested.

I take 10 mg of melatonin a night but it just relaxes me. It doesn’t help me sleep unfortunately.
I feel like it was helping me sleep but i mustve gotten used to it. Im gonna try to stay up later tonight so im more tired when i go to bed.
