Yeah, I basically see stress as my body telling me: “Right now is an emergency! Divert energy and attention away from long-term maintenance and focus on the moment!”
Naturally, diverting energy and attention away from long term maintenance may cause long-term problems; but, sometimes it is necessary for short-term survival or short-term performance.
Stress is known to reduce the immune system too. You’re more likely to be sick when under stress.
