One thing I really love is contour drawing, it completely takes your mind off of getting something ‘right’, basically take your object, landscape, model, keep your eye on them and without looking at the page… Draw! I like using ink with this, so a simple ballpoint pen/fine liner. Try doing it overlapping so draw one over the other, over the other and so on. Do it with your non dominant hand (this works better with me for some reason). Now… You can go fast and slap dash, you can go super slow and really, really look at what you’re drawing. Set time limits, but most of all, have fun!

It can be really funny how wrong things can go but as you weren’t looking it disconnects you from that logical ‘it’s utter rubbish’ feeling. It’s an art all of its own, and a great experiment ! So I’m hoping someone can get something from it!

This is a Mother’s Day card I did a few weeks ago.
Acrylic, spray paint, sharpie.
I don’t like the sharpie effect.
Got another in the works.

Going to Camp (a child’s story)

by Daze

Page 1: When I went to camp, I forgot about time.

Page 2: It was always time to have fun.

Page 3: I forgot about my parents divorce.

Page 4: It was when I got to be in charge.

Page 5: I forgot about doing good on tests.

Page 6: Everything was going A-ok.

Page 7: I forgot about a bedtime.

Page 8: Falling asleep was really like falling.

Page 9: I forgot about eating veggies.

Page 10: We got s’mores every night.

Page 11: The best thing about camp was I forgot about me.

Page 12: I was able to be a great adventurer for one week, and not a girl with a boy’s name,

Page 13: not a girl who lives in an apartment, not a girl who can’t whistle.

Page 14: After all of this forgetting do you know what I found out on the 2nd day?

Page 15: Oh my gosh, I forgot my toothbrush!

if you’re looking for inspiration and have the attention span for it, watch the movie Naked Lunch. if that doesn’t get your creative juices flowing, nothing will.

This is a cool video and inspiring. I don’t think you need an art show though to feel happy with what you create.

Decisions.

I worked on a story years ago about Christ and the Devil returning to earth on the Internet. Christ’s handle is “The Carpenter” and he chases the Devil whose handle is “Horny”, off of an adult website.

Then the two of them do battle throughout the web…on all different types of sites…ultimately ending up with Horny almost causing a Nuclear WW3…only to be stopped at the last second by all of the weak, sick and mentally ill posters of the world who believe that the Carpenter is indeed the second coming of Christ.

I wrote about a hundred pages about it, but never followed through. Perhaps I’ll revisit this story line one day. To finish it in book form would be my goal.

I’ve been writing a bit more lately. I love painting in oils because of their fluidity and brightness. I’ll share my paintings and possibly start selling them.

Thank you! I’ve just started painting really. I’ve done more pen and ink and sketch/lay out work than anything else.
Getting back into inkscape/illustrator as well. Love a good logo.
Metal working is my fav I’d say.
Very hard to focus without meds right now.
I’d love to see your work.
