Plenty of people in the capitalist societies who make good things happen.
But I see what you’re saying.
Idk… ■■■■■■■ sucks… I guess I have an inheritance to look forward to based on their decision to both work. But id trade that any day for even a chance at being a normie
I live in the downtown of a city, and it’s a poor neighborhood with drugs and alcohol. But I really wouldn’t call it the ghetto with gang violence, ect.
From 1990-95 I lived in a board and care home on one of the most drug infested streets in the city.
I had just gotten clean and this particular group home was one of the top group homes in a city of 800, 000. It was clean and well run.
But people on the street would often just stand around in front of their homes or on the sidewalk doing or selling drugs.
I walked down that street about 2-4 times a day and in 5 years no one really bothered me. I think it was just dumb luck.
I used to go to AA meetings 5-6 nights a week and I often walked down the streets to catch a bus or I used to walk all by myself at 10:00 pm to get home and never had a problem.
But several houses near us got raided by the police for selling drugs and also it was normal to hear the police helicopter flying low over our neighborhood shining a spotlight and yelling at people on the ground through a megaphone. That happened a lot, we got used to it.
Yeah, I used to tell people in AA meetings what street I lived on and a lot of them knew my street. And I’d get a ride home from someone in a meeting and they knew my street. It had quite a reputation.
It was filled with run down, older
houses. This was when I was in my thirties and I was in recovery and I was too old to really hang out with any neighbors.
