Are glasses bad for your eyes?

Google Ai search said APs can cause blurred vision. Mechanism of action idk maybe anticholinergic or something.

I see clear with prescription glasses on but surely it would damage my eyes long term.

The eye muscles must be spazzing out in order for my eyes to be unfocussed.

It feels like sensory overload.

I need to cease the APs asap.

I hate meds. So many bad side effects.

Rn got no positives or negatives just depression from hospital..And lethargy.

Some time my eyes goes out of focus with out glass this happens all of a sudden even i am not quite sure about AP.

If you only started getting blurred vision after starting your meds, you might want to talk with your doc about that. They can look into whether you should switch to a new med. But no, glasses are not bad for your eyes. Kind of the opposite. Straining your eyes by refusing to wear glasses is what damages them.

Every few years there’s a resurgence of the crackpot theory that you can train yourself to no longer need glasses. Now is the newest round of what has been a repeating cycle for at least as long as I’ve been alive, and probably since glasses were invented. It never works, and it never will.

My plan is to come off meds, and then have my vision return to normal.

And I agree straining is damaging. So wearing some cheap blue lens ones for now. Will get a prescription for vision glasses on Monday.

That’s the kind of plan you should check with your doctor about. Your vision issues might be unrelated. You might also just need a different med. It’s better to check with the experts than do mad scientist experiments on yourself.

My eyes fluctuated very slightly when I changed meds

But really not that much about 0.25

No, that’s ridiculous. Glasses do not damage your eyess. This is you looking for excuses for avoiding meds.

Yes. This is usually because they affect how quickly your eyes refocus from near to far. What should happen nearly instantly takes seconds and what you’re looking at is temporarily blurry while your eyes catch up. This was a massive problem for me on higher doses of older style APs, but I haven’t had the issue for decades since combining therapy with maintenance doses of newer APs.

This never ends well for you. Recommend therapy as an adjunctive treatment so you can function on fewer APs with fewer side effects.

Haha lol

I’m never out of excuses as the anti med one man army

I hate meds too. They made me fat and unhealthy for most of my adult life and I’m only recently making good headway on that. I’m four lbs away from dropping below what I call my “Zyprexa weight”. I’ve been chipping away at that for close to a couple of decades.

When I say I need meds it’s because I have tried every way I can think of to get off of them. I have crashed and burned every damn time, damaging myself, my finances, and my marriage. If I could tell you an easy and sure fire way to get off of them for life, I would. Believe me.

If you don’t need glasses then they could be bad for you
But wearing glasses when you have impaired vision is good for you
