My insurance has decided that they won’t cover Austedo for my TD. They want me on Ingrezza. On the one hand, that’s okay because I was having new symptoms, and I’m not a candidate for clozapine because of my white blood cell count dropping when I was last on it. But… Ingrezza says it only has a 39% reduction in symptoms after 48 weeks. Does this mean I run the chance of old symptoms returning because Ingrezza only takes care of 1/3 of the symptoms? I am scared.
I don’t have TD, but I just looked up the cost of Ingrezza. The cheapest cost with my insurance if I went to a certain pharmacy is a total of $7000 counting what I would pay and what they would pay. It’s so expensive!!! I hope a generic becomes available. That’s really terrible that they charge that.
It’s less than $30 for me.
