Anyone here work on washing machines?

I have an old washer. Every time it’s in the spin cycle it makes a loud noise regardless if it has clothes in it. Like a loud clicking noise. How much would repair cost?

Look online or call a washing machine repair shop. Or any place that works on broken appliances. Call a few places and maybe they’ll give you an estimate over the phone and you can compare the estimates.

Round here, they charge £70 quid an hour just to look at it. In my experience its cheaper to throw it out and just buy a new one.

I replaced a plastic gear in my old washer. It broke. There is a belt too. Wasn’t too hard to do. YouTube videos walk you through the steps. If there is a cover on the back of the machine, if you take it off you might be able to tell where the noise coming from. Or wait for it to break, then you will know for sure.

Get the model number and who makes it. It is on a sticker on the back of the washer. Google that, along with “common problems” or “parts” and you will find what you need.

Mine did this

It was still under warranty.

As @Naarai says it’s cheaper to replace it in a lot of ways

The company I bought it from gave me a voucher to just replace it

I have a repair maintenance plan for all my appliances in my home.

It’s inexpensive. So using that it’s reasonable to see if it can be repaired.

Otherwise, it’s much cheaper to buy a new one
