A nurse told me I have metabolic syndrome over a year ago. I’ve lost 20 lbs since then so maybe I don’t have it anymore.
I got this off of Webmd
Metabolic syndrome is not a disease in itself. Instead, it’s a group of risk factors – high blood pressure, high blood sugar, unhealthy cholesterol levels, and abdominal fat.
I was really concerned about diabetes. I guess losing weight is the only option. I was put on Metformin for this.
Losing weight is a great idea @TheBest. At different times I was able to lose a little, my doctor told me that my diabetes type 2 was practically gone, that my blood tests were closer to normal than diabetic.
No, just meds. Metformin and glimepiride at first, later on my doctor added Januvia. I don’t even check my blood, I hate having to draw blood. Just saw my doctor on Wednesday and she said everything is fine.
